Today, Vojvodina will play the first friendly match during the preparations in Belek. At 2:30 pm Serbian time, the rival of the red and whites in the sports center Cornelia will be Altay from Izmir, currently the fourth-placed team in the second division of Turkey.

Altay football club has several similarities with Vojvodina football club. Both clubs were founded in 1914, both clubs have won two trophies in the National Cup, and in the 1998/99 season, both clubs met with French Bastia in the then Inter-toto Cup, with Altay then eliminated in the quarterfinals, and Vojvodina met Bastia in the semifinals and later advanced to the finals with Werder Bremen. The founding of Altay FC (initially the name of the club was İstiklal) was aimed at uniting the Turkish youth in Izmir, considering that in those years there were already clubs of some other national communities in the city.

However, unlike Vojvodina, Altay never managed to win the title in the domestic league, and its greatest successes are three third places. The team from Izmir performs in black and white equipment and currently plays at the Bornova Stadium with a capacity of 12,500 seats, considering that their İzmir Alsancak Stadium is currently in the reconstruction phase.

As for the current squad of Altay, the team is composed of mostly Turkish players, but there are also one player from Senegal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Morocco, the Netherlands and Portugal. The total value of the team is estimated at around 6.35 million euros, and the coach of the team is 67-year-old Turk Yücel İldiz.

As for Vojvodina, the Manager Nenad Lalatović announced that he will provide an opportunity for two teams to play 45 minutes each in this match, and the fans of the Old Lady and all football fans in our country can certainly rejoice at the news that they will be able to watch this match live.
