Earlier this week, a state of emergency was announced throughout the Republic of Serbia. Consequently, the competition in the Super League of Serbia was interrupted until further notice, and the training of Vojvodina football players at FC Vujadin Boškov was suspended. Like most of our fellow citizens, Vojvodina players spend most of the day at home, as is the case with the left-back of the Old Lady and U-21 national team player, 21-year-old Mladen Devetak.

– Since the state of emergency was announced, I spend most of my day at home in Futog. It is known that a curfew was subsequently announced, which means that no one is allowed to move between eight in the evening and five in the morning, so I adhere strictly to that – says Devetak.

However, regardless of the suspension of the competition, he is still trying to stay fit and be ready for the continuation of the season, which will hopefully happen as soon as possible.

– Like other teammates, I work according to the program I received from our conditioning coach. While pandemic is in place, group training is forbidden, so I work exclusively individually and strive to stay fit. Although no one is pleased about the interruption of the season, I think that it was particularly bad for us, because we were in a series of really good results. Honestly, I miss training and matches and I hope that the season will not be interrupted, but that it will still be played until the end – notes Devetak.

The U-21 Serbian national team player points out that he uses every opportunity to help those who need help.

– Of course, I’m always at the service of people in my area who need help. For example, yesterday I went to a store for my neighbor who is over 65 and brought him everything he needed for the house, and of course I will continue to do so whenever he needs it. In these moments, we must all be in solidarity and help each other – Devetak said.
