In the fourth round of the play-off of Serbian Super League, tomorrow Vojvodina will play against Mladost in Lučani. For red and whites, this game comes after a catastrophic defeat from Napredak in Kruševac (5-0), which, regardless of the generally very bad season of Old Lady and poor results in the league, unpleasantly surprised all those who care about Vojvodina.
Manager of Vojvodina Radovan Krivokapić points out that there is absolutely no justification for such a defeat.
– We played very badly in Kruševac and what happened was a shame for FK Vojvodina. Even more than defeat, I was hurt by the reaction of the players in the dressing room after that match, or should I say, I was hurt by the absence of any reaction among them. I repeat them constantly and they must understand it – Vojvodina is a big club and they should be honored and privileged to have the opportunity to wear its jersey. We are the youngest team in the league, oscillations are possible and expected, and if at least for something I can be glad, this is because half of the players in the first team are those who passed through our Youth Academy. However, some of them have not yet signed professional contracts and therefore once again I appeal to them, but also to their parents and managers, to be aware of the opportunity which they have and to clearly say whether they want or do not want to play for Vojvodina – says Krivokapić.
He very much appreciates tomorrow’s opponent of his team.
– Mladost is one exceptionally high quality team, made up of many experienced players and led by a great coach, who has been doing his job successfully for years, and who, in the true sense of the word, has become a symbol of this club. Last season they played the Cup final, this season they have reached the semifinals and it can be said that they have a continuity of good results. If we repeat the mistakes we made in Kruševac, there is no doubt that the result will be the same as it was against Napredak. Nevertheless, I believe that this time we will not be indifferent and that we will never again allow such a disaster – Krivokapić said.
On tomorrow’s match, Vojvodina will not be able to count on the midfielder Damir Zlomislić, who is expecting a hand surgery soon, and he will certainly no longer play until the end of the season.
The match between Mladost and Vojvodina is scheduled for tomorrow in Lučani, starting at 6 PM.
