After the defeat of his team by Rubin, the Manager of Vojvodina Nenad Lalatović said that the Russian team had punished every mistake of red and whites.
Vojvodina was defeated today by Rubin 3-0 (1-0) in a friendly match played in Belek.
– It’s never pleasant when a game is lost, but today I can only blame my players for their concentration in the defense. With the first goal, we did not accompany the player to the end, the second was after a nice action, and the third was practically an own goal and we gave it to ourselves. However, it should be borne in mind that we played against Rubin from Kazan, which is at least 20 years ahead of us in terms of organization and finances. We had two or three hundred percent chances that we didn’t take advantage of and who knows what direction the game could have gone. Also, it is better to make some individual mistakes now, made by two of my players today, than when competitive matches start – says Lalatović.
With today’s match, Vojvodina has completed winter preparations in Belek.
– Preparations were well done and we played against very serious teams, and from all teams from Serbia we had the strongest opponents this winter. I deliberately asked to play such matches, because my players saw that they could play against a team such as Rubin Kazan, Shakhtar, Rapid etc. In our league, we do not have matches of that intensity as Rubin has in Russia. Their players are expensively paid and today they have punished literally every one of our mistakes. Players will now be given two days off to refresh, and then we enter the micro-cycle of preparations for the start of the second part of the season, so it will then be the way I want it to be. There were a lot of good things today as well, but we were cut off by that goal in the last minute of the first half, which should not happen to us – notes Lalatović.
The Manager of Vojvodina practically already knows the lineup he will take onto the pitch in the match against Proleter in the first spring round.
– I had maybe one or two dilemmas, but I solved them in my head and now I already know the team that I will take to the pitch against Proleter. Vojvodina is a big club, but it is one thing when you play friendly games against the teams that are in front of you and invest € 50-60 million in transfers, and the other thing is when you play against Proleter, Radnički or Red Star, which is, to be honest, also on one high level. Still, these are the teams that we can pair with, as we did today in most of the match against Rubin, who is headed by a former coach of the Russian national team – said Lalatović.
The expedition of FK Vojvodina will leave the hotel Susesi Luxury Resort tomorrow early in the morning, and the arrival of the red and whites at the Nikola Tesla airport is expected around 11:25 am.
