Vojvodina’s footballers today have officially started preparations for the new half season. By gathering at FC Vujadin Boškov and training that began at 10 o’clock, the red and whites started to prepare for what they are expecting in the next five months, which is the second part of the competition in the Super League and the Serbian Cup, with the priority task remaining the same as announced this summer, which is to qualify for Europa League next season.

At today’s training gathered 19 players, and those are: Mladen Devetak, Ranko Veselinović, Siniša Saničanin, Igor Jeličić, Nikola Vasiljević, Aranđel Stojković, Marko Đurišić, Nikola Drinčić, Miljan Vukadinović, Miodrag Gemović, Petar Bojić, Dejan Zukić, Marko Bjeković, Mirko Topić, Mihajlo Nešković, Bojan Matić, Ognjen Đuričin, Nemanja Čović and Jovan Kokir. Due to medical examinations, goalkeepers Emil Rockov, Nikola Simić and Nemanja Toroman were absent, and they will be involved in working with the team already at the afternoon’s training.

Newcomer at today’s training was 28-year-old Miljan Vukadinović, a right-winger who joined Vojvodina from Napredak, for which he played 14 games last half-season, scoring four goals and achieving five assists. He signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.

Also, at today’s training appeared young right back, 19-year-old Marko Bjeković, who spent the previous half-season on loan at Kabel, and it remains to be seen whether in the upcoming half-season he will wear Vojvodina’s jersey or stay in the team which competes in the First League of Serbia.

With the permission of the coach, today’s training was missed by Eze Vincent and Đorđe Đurić, who will be joining their teammates in a few days, as well as 21-year-old Lazar Stojsavljević, a recent central back of Newport County, currently 14-ranked team in English League Two. Last half-season, he played one game for that team and is expected to sign a professional contract with Vojvodina in the coming days.

As for the players who were members of the Old Lady last fall concerns, Nikola Petković and Željko Filipović terminated their contracts with the club, while Milan Lazarević, Nemanja Vučić and Nemanja Nikolić, to whom the Manager of Vojvodina Nenad Lalatović no longer counts, are also expecting to move to another club during this transfer window. For that reason, none of them came at today’s training session.

According to Voša’s coach, there will certainly be some more transfer activities this January.

– Difficult preparations are ahead of us, and for now one new player has arrived. I expect a few more to come, because five have left, and as many of them leave, that many need to come. Also, the team needs to prepare well in order to achieve good results during the spring. Vukadinović is a quality player and will certainly be a big reinforcement for us. While I was the coach of Čukarički and Radnički, he was perhaps the best on the pitch against my teams at the time, and I am convinced that he will help us in the wing positions – stated Lalatović.

He announced that he will have a meeting with President Vojislav Gajić and General Manager Dušan Bajatović on Monday regarding signing some more players, namely Momčilo Mrkaić (Javor), Bogdan Mladenović (Gil Vicente), Marko Petković (without a club) and Stefan Đorđević (Radnički). Nenad Lalatović also revealed to the present journalists that the club has already received certain official million-worth offers for Mirko Topić, but that the club’s attitude is that he should remain a player of Vojvodina at least until the end of the season.

At FC Vujadin Boškov, Vojvodina’s players will train until January 23, and a day later they will go to Turkey, where they will spend two weeks and prepare for the upcoming challenges in the season.
