The attention of football fans in the last few days has been mainly focused on national team matches and European Championship qualifiers. Due to national team commitments, Vojvodina footballers are currently training in incomplete squad, given that four of their teammates received calls for the senior and U-21 Serbian national team.

However, those who remained at the disposal of coach Nenad Lalatović are working as hard as possible to readily welcome the final few rounds in the fall part of the season and thus in the best possible way end the very successful half-season so far. Among them is 24-year-old Sinisa Saničanin, a stout central back who has been wearing an Old Lady jersey for almost two and a half years.

– There is one more mini-cycle left until the end of the autumn part of the season, in which we have achieved very good results so far. I think we can all be happy about that, both the people at the club and the fans, and of course us players. We are currently second and if we keep our form in the continuation of the season, I think it will be no problem to reach a placement in Europe, that is, to finish among the top four teams in the table – says Saničanin.

Last season, Vojvodina conceded 43 goals in the Super League of Serbia, while so far this season the net of red and whites was hit only 15 times.

– The number of goals conceded depends not only on the goalkeeper and the players in defense, but on the whole team. I think that this season we play defense and stand defensively much better, and when it is like that, it is much easier for us from the defense line to save our goal – Saničanin notes.

In the next round, Voša will face Napredak from Kruševac.

– Napredak is a very good team, as it could be seen by their victory in the previous round over Čukarički, which is also one of the candidates for placement in Europe. It is certain that we have to take them very seriously, in order to try to come up with another victory on our pitch and in front of our fans – Saničanin said.
