After two days off given by the Manager Nenad Lalatović after the victory in Šabac, Vojvodina’s players will continue training today at FC Vujadin Boškov. Due to the absence of several players who have been invited to national teams, the red and whites will continue to train in incomplete squad, but this will certainly not affect the intensity of their work and approach to the obligations placed in front of them.
A win over Mačva last weekend contributed to a good atmosphere among Voša’s footballers. Right-back, 24-year-old Aranđel Stojković, had a significant share in the triumph over the team from Šabac, since he assisted Bojan Matić in the seventh minute and allowed him to score the winning goal of the match.
– We expected a tough game, hard and defensive by the home team, and we knew that there will not be many goals in that match. However, we were better throughout the whole game and deservedly achieved the victory, which is very important to us after several poor results and performances that did not satisfied our fans. We went to a break as a runner-up in the standings and I think we deserved to be in that place – Stojković says.
By the end of the half-season, there are only five rounds left.
– I think it is realistic to finish the autumn in the place we are now and we will surely do our best to make it so. With some luck and the quality we have, I believe it is achievable. Of course, we will have to make good efforts and, first of all, prepare well for the last part of the half-season – Stojković notes.
Vojvodina will play its first next league match on November 23, when Napredak from Kruševac will arrive to Karađorđe.
– At the beginning of the season, in Kruševac we have beaten Napredak with a score of 0-2, but that doesn’t have to mean anything. After all, we saw that in the last round Napredak has beaten Čukarički, which at the moment was ahead of us in the standings, so practically they helped us to come back to second place. They are a quality team, with some exceptional individuals, so we will have to make lots of effort to reach a new victory in the league – Stojković said.
