The international break, due to which the regular round in all national leagues in Europe was not played during the last weekend, was officially ended yesterday, so the players of Vojvodina today will again train in a complete squad.

For the past nearly ten days, absent from FC Vujadin Boškov were goalkeeper Emil Rockov, who received the invitation for the senior national team of our country, as well as Ranko Veselinović, Mladen Devetak and Mirko Topić, who responded to the call of the Manager of our U-21 team Ilija Stolica. And while Old Lady’s goalkeeper Emil Rockov made himself available to Vojvodina’s Manager Nenad Lalatović on Monday, the remaining three of his teammates will do the same today, so Voša will be complete for the final training sessions ahead of the upcoming league game against Napredak.

During the national team gathering, a chance to play in both matches for the Serbian U-21 national team was given to Vojvodina’s captain, 20-year-old Ranko Veselinović, while 18-year-old Mirko Topić played in the match against Estonia, which was his debut in our U-21 selection.

– Later and suddenly, I was invited to join the U-21 national team, after the injury of Pavlović from Partizan. It was a very nice experience for me and I am grateful to the coach Ilija Stolica for giving me the opportunity to make my debut against Estonia. It is a fantastic feeling to play for Serbia and to be a part of U-21 young team – Topić says.

Yesterday’s defeat against Russia, diminished the chances of the Eagles to qualify to the European Championship, but hope is still not lost.

– We were a little shaken by that defeat from Russia, but we all still believe that we will be able to qualify for the European Championship. The defeat we have experienced is not so terrible, and everything is still in our hands, at least when it comes to winning participation in the barrage. After all, the Manager Ilija Stolica has a specific way of work, and it was not even expected that everything would start functioning flawlessly right away – Topić points out.

The young midfielder of Vojvodina has now turned to his club commitments and match against Napredak in the 17th round of the Super League of Serbia.

– After winning against Mačva in the previous round, the atmosphere in our team is again very positive and that is what makes me happy ahead of the matches that are coming up. I believe that we will be able to achieve a triumph against Napredak, and that by the end of the half-season we will be able to connect several victories, just as we did at the beginning of the season – Topić notes.

The match between Vojvodina and Napredak will be played at Karađorđe on Saturday, starting at 6 pm.
