After the international break, this week Super League of Serbia will continue, and the first match of eight round will be played on Friday in Niš, where Vojvodina will play against the home team of Radnički, last season’s runner-up.
It is obvious that a tough and interesting match is expected, which confirms Ranko Veselinović, the captain of the Old Lady.
– After international break, we are expecting one of the toughest away matches in the league. We haven’t won there since 2016 and, by my experience, I know that again we play a hard and difficult game. In the past several days, Devetak, Zukić, Topić and I were with U-21 and U-19 national team, but the other guys trained well and in these two days, with our coach Lalatović, we need to find the right tactics for the game, in which I expect that we’ll go for the win – says Veselinović.
In last round’s clash against Red Star, Vojvodina suffered a first defeat in the league this season.
– That didn’t affect our confidence, because I think that, despite the defeat, we generally played a very good game. We missed our chances, and Red Star won thanks to the individual quality of its players, its experience and routine of winning. However, the atmosphere in our squad is good and we are ready for the match in Niš, against a very good team – says Veselinović.
From this season, he is a new captain of Vojvodina.
– That has affected well on me, because it means me a lot to be a captain of such a big club like Vojvodina. I can’t say that it motivates me extra, because I am always motivated, but it gives me additional security on the pitch during the game – says Veselinović.
Ahead of this match, in Vojvodina’s squad there are no injured nor suspended players, and the match is scheduled for Friday at 6 pm, with live broadcast on Arena Sport TV 1.
