Vojvodina won against OFK Backa with a score of 1-0 (0-0), in a friendly match played in Veternik.

In front of about 50 spectators in FC “Vujadin Boskov”, the only goalscorer in the match was Gajic in the 56th minute.

The teams played in the following lineups:

OFK Backa: Zogovic (from 46. Milojevic) – Jovanovic (from 12. Kostic), Zarkovic (from 46 Djuric), Grabez (from 46. Popovic), Pantic (from 46. Zakula) – Bjelos (from 46. Kojic), Gavric (from 46. Kuveljić), Radinović (from 46. Marković), Čeković (from 46. Gordić) – Rajović (from 46. Mićić), Makarić (from 46. Balabanović).

From the very beginning of the match, Vojvodina had a bigger possession of the ball and transferred the focus of the game to half the rival, but OFK Backa successfully defended and managed to eliminate any potential danger in front of its goal.

However, in the 20th minute, Zlomislić took the ball in the middle of the field, moved forward, and then well played the ball to Zivkovic, who shot from around fifteen meters, but Zogovic defended. Only three minutes later, Srećković lobbed the ball to the penalty area, where a nice shot was seen by Zličić, also from around fifteen meters from the goal, but the ball hit the outside of the net.

A new opportunity was awaited until the 53rd minute when Zukić sent the ball to the penalty box of the OFK Bačka, and Graovac made a shot, but the ball went past the goal bar. Nevertheless, in 56th minute, Vojvodina took the lead.

At about 18 meters from OFK Bačka’s goal, Mitosevic took the ball and hit it, and the ball, after hitting one of the defending players of the away team, came to Gajic, who sent it behind the back of the goalkeeper Milojevic from around seven to eight meters distance.

In the 63rd minute, a good shot from about 18 meters was made by Topić, but Milojević’s excellent save made the ball go into the corner. From that moment, OFK Bačka managed to relieve pressure and on several occasions it was in a position to equalize the score, but its players lacked a better final shot.

On the other hand, Vojvodina could have scored another goal from the counter-attack, which would resulted in a more convincing victory, but there was no change of the result, so the first match of red-whites in 2019 ended with a minimum triumph of the “old lady”.
