Yesterday’s match against OFK Bačka was in many ways beautiful and historic for Vojvodina. In addition to the fact that its Manager Nenad Lalatović recorded his 62nd victory on the bench of the Old Lady, which made him the coach with the most victories in the history of the club, two young players who grew up in the Youth Academy Ilija Pantelić made their debut against the team from Bačka Palanka – Nemanja Toroman and Uroš Kabić.
While Toroman has been a member of the first team of the red and whites for some time, Uros Kabić is still a member of the Youth Academy of Vojvodina, although, given his age (born on January 1, 2004), he could also play for the cadets. He replaced Aranđel Stojković in the 73rd minute of the match, and in the remaining twenty minutes he showed the talent and football pedigree characteristic of the players educated at the Ilija Pantelić Youth Academy.
– First of all, I feel a great obligation to thank the coaching staff and the guys from the first team, because they really accepted me very well. I am from Liman, I have been in Vojvodina since the age of 10 and my heart is full that I got the opportunity to make my debut for the first team. I especially want to thank coach Nenad Lalatović for the support he gave me, which only gave me an additional desire to prove myself in the coming period – says Kabić.
Although he played for the first team of Vojvodina yesterday, this morning he also played for the U-18 team of the Old Lady, who in the 17th round of the Youth League of Serbia defeated the city rival RFK Novi Sad 1921 with a convincing 0-3.
– We were better during the whole game and we convincingly outplayed them. By chances, I think the result could have been even more convincing. I am glad for the new victory, which kept us near the top of the table, and I hope that we will improve our ranking even more in the continuation of the season – Kabić points out.
Yesterday’s debut for the first team certainly motivated him to work even harder in the coming period.
– I will continue to play for the U-18 team and try even harder to be as dominant as possible at this age, and if that is the case, I hope that I will deserve an invitation for the winter preparations of the first team and play maybe another game. I think that Voša can fight for the title this season, especially after I was convinced that there is an exceptional atmosphere and chemistry among the first team players and members of the staff. This team is definitely capable of fighting for the greatest achievements – Kabić emphasized.
With great work and proper football development, as many great players who grew up in the Youth Academy Ilija Pantelić had, there is no doubt that he will also show why he is currently considered the most talented player in his generation in Serbia.
