The potential national team player of Mali and the former player of the Portuguese second league team Estrela, 27-year-old Mamadou Traore, joined the team of Vojvodina in Slovenia last night, and already this morning he did the first training with the red and whites.

Traore plays as a central back and, after passing medical examinations, will sign a two-year contract with the Old Lady.

He was born on October 3, 1994 in Bamako, Mali, and he started his senior career in Florida Adrenaline from the USA. He then moved to Platense from Honduras, and then continued his career in Portugal, where he played for Alta Lisbon, Maritimo, Torrence and Estrella, for which he played 35 games last season. In March last year, he also played one game for his country’s national team.

– I am very grateful for the opportunity I got and I am very happy to be here. The club looks very good and organized and I hope I will help make great things this season. I play as a central back, but I can also play as a defensive midfielder. I am considered someone who is at the same time strong, but also good with the ball, and I hope that I will show that on the field and help the team as much as I can – said Traore.
