Former Vojvodina player Mladen Devetak is a new member of Italian Palermo.

Devetak is a child of Vojvodina, he passed all the younger categories, and for the first team of the Old Lady he played 107 games, scored one goal and recorded five assists.

– I signed all the necessary documents and everything is officially finished, now I am a Palermo player. I am happy to come to this great club, the conditions for training and work are outstanding. The new team accepted me warmly, my teammates and the coaching staff are trying their best to overcome the language barrier, considering that I don’t speak Italian, and they don’t speak English very well, but for now we are doing great. All that remains for me is to give my best in training and matches and show myself in the right light. Due to commitments, I still haven’t gotten to know the city the best, but what I’ve seen so far has delighted me, as well as the entire welcome to Palermo – said Devetak.

He wished his Voša and his former teammates much success, noting that he was proud to have been a member of the Old Lady.

– When I said goodbye to my teammates and the administration, I said, and I can repeat it with pride, that Vojvodina is my home club, the first and only club in Serbia. In Voša, I learned everything that I am today, professionally and personally, and that is something that is priceless. I wish my former teammates, first of all, health, to be injury-free, and then to bring another Cup, God willing, to Novi Sad, because our fans, who are with us in victories and defeats, deserve it the most. My strongest seal and impression that I carry from Vojvodina is certainly the match of the final of the Serbian Cup in 2020 when we lifted the cup. The entire match against Partizan, the atmosphere in Niš and the penalty shootout in which we emerged as winners is something I will remember for the rest of my life – Devetak concluded with the well-known lines “Ćiribu Ćiriba, Voša plays like Barca…”

The Vojvodina football club thanks its now former player for everything he did in the red and white jersey and wishes him the best of luck in his future career.
