The coach of Vojvodina FC, Miroslav Tanjga is careful before the away game against OFK Beograd in another direct duel in the fight for Europe.
Players of the Old Lady are facing the team of OFK Beograd on Friday at 6:30pm, and Tanjga reflected on the previous defeat against TSC and revelead that the team is leaving for Zaječar with a lot of staff issues.
- We are sorry that we lost the previous match and with such a result, which is our own fault because our attitude towards that match was more than bad. We enter that game as if we had won it, and that was the real reason behind a bad performance. I mention that because it was hard for me to get over that match, because it meant a lot to us, just like every following match. We are playing against OFK Beograd with certainly a lot less self-confidence than we had before the match with TSC. Out of 6 bonus players, four are missing, three are injured, and one is sanctioned, so we are left only with Siniša and Mladenović, who will have to start the match and given that situation, we also borrowed two bonus players from Kabel FC, Popović and Sukačev. Veličković is not ready either, Savićević is still under question, just like Medojević, while Petrović left the practice yesterday before the end. We have a lot of issues, but we always played better when we had issues. This is not an alibi, because we are going for the victory again, and that is how we prepare for the match. We couldn’t have received a better warning from TSC. We are ready and we will give our 100% to win those three points – Tanjga said.
Lazar Nikolić agreed with the head of staff.
- It is hard to talk after the defeat. We analyzed our mistakes, hopefully we won’t repeat them, because for us each match is like a finale. We are facing a difficult game in Zaječar, we know what happened in the previous match with OFK Beograd, but we also know what our goal is and what we have to do before the end of the season. We enter each match maximally ready to rise to the expectations of the fans, and to be at the position we deserve at the end of the season – Nikolić said.
Tanjga also addressed the previous game against OFK Beograd, when Vojvodina was defeated with 1:3.
- We had plenty of individual mistakes which we can’t repeat. We were missing aggressiveness, and self-confidence. We showed that at some of the matches in Niš, Lučani and Novi Pazar, where we recorded our most prominent victory. We have to show what we can do, believe in ourselves, and want it above all. At the match against TSC we were missing the desire to win, to prove that we want to be in the third place. We are always missing that zeal, we have the knowledge, but we are not fully showing it. We have to wake up, and not allow ourselves to be in a position where the last round decides the placement to Europe. The audience in Novi Sad is sensitive, they want a lot and with right. What does that mean? They don’t want us to be the champions, but they expect us to play Europe and we have to respect that, because that is where we should be. And that is how we should approach each practice and each match – Tanjga concluded.
The match between OFK Beograd and Vojvodina is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 pm, with a live broadcast at RTV 1 and Arena Premium 1.
