As of today, Nikola Čumić is a new member of Vojvodina.

He signed a three-year contract with the Old Lady today, and he arrives from Greek Olympiakos.

The president of Vojvodina, Dragoljub Zbiljić, thanked the management of Olympiakos and congratulated Nikola Čumić on his transfer to the ranks of the Old Lady.

– This is a big day for us, because this transfer is proof that the impossible can become possible if you want it enough. A great name has joined our ranks and we are honored that Nikola Čumić is a new member of Vojvodina. Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the management of Olympiakos, led by President Marinakis, who has shown that he respects our club and has a high opinion of our new project. I wish Nikola Čumić a lot of luck, to help us achieve our goals. After everything we have done so far, I really think that the sky is the limit for us – said the President of Vojvodina, Dragoljub Zbiljić.

Čumić was born in Užice, on November 20, 1998, and grew up in Sloboda, from where he reached Radnički Niš via Metalac, where he entered the big stage.

One year in Radnički, from January 2019 to 2020, was enough for him to be recorded and bought by Olympiakos, but Čumić remained to develop at Čair. After arriving in Greece, he did not play a significant amount of minutes, so he went on loan to Sporting Gijon and Swiss Lucerne.

Čumić can play in several different positions in the attack, but he mainly played as a winger, so Milan Rastavac will now have even stronger competition with Filip Malbašić, Uroš Kabić, Yves Baraye, Mihajlo Nešković and Vladan Novevski.

– I am very happy to wear the Vojvodina jersey, first of all I want to thank the president Dragoljub Zbiljić and sports director Jovanović for the trust shown. The negotiations were long, but in the end we managed to find an agreement with Olympiakos and finally become a member of Vojvodina. I liked the new project of Vojvodina, the whole city stood behind the club and I expect us to be in the top this season. I came here to help and to do my best so that European games will be played in Novi Sad next year. I’m fully fit, I’ve done the preparations with Olympiakos, of course I miss competitive games, but physically I feel great. After talking with the coach, we’ll see if I’ll be in the competition for Sunday’s match against Voždovac – said Čumić, who will wear jersey number 24.

Čumić is the eighth reinforcement of Vojvodina this summer, as Lazar Carević, Mamadou Traore, Radomir Milosavljević, Yves Baraye, Filip Malbašić, Uroš Nikolić and Nemanja Nikolić came before him.
