In the 21st round of the Serbian Super League, Vojvodina will face Čukarički in Belgrade tomorrow. After the match against TSC in the last round, the red and whites are expecting another difficult match, in which they will try to win the first points in the second part of the season.
This is confirmed by the words of the assistant coach of Vojvodina, Dragan Šarac, who knows the team of Čukarički well.
– It is certain that we will not have an easy match. We are playing against the team that is currently fourth on the table and it will be a derby round. In the course of the season so far, Čukarički has shown that it is a good and mature team, with many experienced and young players, which has been playing in almost the same squad for three or four seasons, reinforced with several returnees from abroad. As a whole, they are a well-integrated team, which has very few defeats and draws, especially at home – says Šarac.
In the last few seasons, Vojvodina and Čukarički, as a rule, play very uncertain matches.
– Last season, we played a draw twice in the league, while we beat them 0-1 in the Cup on Banovo Brdo, so this time we will try to win as many points as possible. In the last round, we suffered a defeat from one shot to goal, and we missed some of our chances. The first round is always the most difficult, and now the second is waiting for us and we will give our best in trying to bring points to Novi Sad – Šarac points out.
In the match against TSC, Vojvodina did not have a single shot within the goal range, which is certainly an atypical data for the red and whites.
– TSC had one shot into the goal range and won the match. We had three or four hundred percent chances that we did not use and it is a pity that we did not manage to score at least one goal, because I think that a draw would be an objective result of that game. However, that is football. We will have a small handicap against Čukarički, because three players are injured, two goalkeepers and Zukić, who has a problem with his ankle and it is not certain whether he will be in the protocol for this match. On the other hand, we are now counting more seriously on the three members of the national team, and the boss may decide that some of them will be in the starting lineup – notes Šarac.
The assistant coach of Vojvodina emphasizes that the players, despite the announcements after the match against TSC, trained regularly this week.
– The situation is certainly not good for all of us, but the players, in agreement with all of us, decided to hold trainings normally. We are maximally concentrated on the game against Čukarički, and let these things be solved by the people who should solve them – said Šarac.
The match between Čukarički and Vojvodina will be played tomorrow at 6:30 pm at the Čukaricki Stadium in Belgrade, with a live broadcast on the first channel of Arena Sport television and Novi Sad TV.
