In the 16th round of the Serbian Super League, Vojvodina will play against Radnički in Niš tomorrow. Vojvodina welcomes this match after the placement in the quarterfinals of the Serbian Cup, unlike Radnički, which was unexpectedly defeated by the second division IMT in the Round of 16.
In the last three or four years, the matches between Radnički and Vojvodina have been very interesting, and the assistant coach of Voša, Dragan Šarac, believes that it will be the same this time as well.
– We are playing very interesting matches with Radnički from Niš and that is a very difficult opponent. They have lost the last three games and they certainly have a point problem, but they will give their maximum to get back on the winning track. We always had difficult matches there. Last time we managed to win and I hope that we will return to Novi Sad again with points – says Šarac.
Together with the boss Nenad Lalatović and another assistant coach, Vidak Bratić, he was part of the coaching staff of Radnički before returning to Vojvodina, so he knows this team very well.
– Gavrić is returning to them. He recovered from the corona virus and is one of their best players, so he will certainly compete for the lineup. They brought some more players and that is probably still not fitted in properly, and an additional problem for them is that some members of the staff also got corona virus – Šarac points out.
With the victory over Proleter in the Cup, Vojvodina managed to rise after the defeat in the derby against Red Star, which broke the series of invincibility at home that lasted for a full 14 months.
– We lost against Red Star due to some of our mistakes, after that we had Proleter in the Cup, so this will be our third difficult match in a short time. However, we simply have to win and achieve our goal, and that is primarily going to Europe, and then to see if there is a chance for something else – notes Šarac.
This season, Vojvodina achieved four victories, two draws and two defeats in the league away games.
– We had problems. For example, we played a good game in Ivanjica, but we missed an incredible number of chances. I think one of the things we need to change is to start using almost every second or third opportunity. This way, when you make a lot of chances and don’t use them, the opponent punishes you. Also, we have to pay a little attention to the defensive line, which we will certainly do for these remaining few games until the end of the half-season, as well as during the preparations for the spring part – says Šarac.
The Manager of Vojvodina, Nenad Lalatović, recently stated that the team needs reinforcements in the January transfer window.
– I would not go into details, but the boss will certainly say that at one of the next conferences. We are already making a strategy for next season and we will need three or four players, especially since three or four will probably leave, as is usual in most clubs. We will try to bring the right reinforcements, so that we would be even stronger next season – said Šarac.
The match between Radnički and Vojvodina will be played tomorrow at 4 pm at the Čair stadium in Niš, with a live broadcast on Novosadska Television.
