After his team win over Tatra, Vojvodina assistant coach Dragan Šarac said that this match was just the preparation for what the red and whites expect next weekend, which is a clash against Red Star.

Vojvodina defeated Tatra today with a score of 1-5 (0-3), in a friendly match played in Kisac.

– The match was played on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of FK Tatra and we were really welcomed in Kisac. A nice match was seen and most importantly, no one was injured. The chance was given to players who played less this season, as well as to some of our players from the Youth Academy, who achieved a nice result. This was the preparation for what awaits us next weekend, which is Red Star. We know that we are welcoming the Serbian champion and it will be a good match between two good teams, so we will see how it will end. This way, I invite all our loyal fans to come and support the team in attempt to win new points – says Šarac.

Due to the yellow cards, Vojvodina will be weakened by absence of the striker Bojan Matić, while the midfielders Petar Bojić and Mihajlo Nešković are questionable.

– Those two are still suffering from injuries and are not in the full training process. We’ll see what will happen by the end of the week. If the medical team manages to cure them, they will play, and if it remains as it is now, they will not – Šarac notes.

In the last two years, Red Star has won the titles in Serbia in a superior way, and it also achieved some very remarkable results in Europe. On the other hand, Vojvodina twice took a disappointing eighth and seventh place at the table.

– This is now a new Vojvodina, although it is mostly made up of the players from last season, with three or four new ones in the starting lineup. We can only match Red Star with collective and unity of all 18 players who be in the protocol, and we will try not to concede a goal, to score at least one and thus win the game – said Šarac.

The match between Vojvodina and Red Star will be played at Karađorđe on Saturday, starting at 6:45 pm.
