On Wednesday, Vojvodina will play against Partizan in the semifinals of the Serbian Cup.

Only four days after the championship visit to Humska, the Old Lady is expecting another derby with the black and whites in the fight for the new final of the Serbian Cup.

With the defeat against Partizan on Saturday, Voša was officially left without a chance to qualify for Europe through the championship, so the placement in the finals of the Serbian Cup is now a priority for Dragan Radojičić and his team, because the eventual trophy would provide Europe to the Old Lady.

Vojvodina enters this match after four consecutive defeats in the championship, before the last one against Partizan, the Old Lady lost to Red Star, Radnički and Voždovac, so now is the right time to end the black series.

On the other hand, Partizan is in great shape, after the draw with Red Star at the start of the playoffs, Aleksandar Stanojević’s team tied four victories, so it is quite certain that the black and whites will want to continue that series in the Serbian Cup, for new finale. The cup is also important for Partizan, which has six tied finals behind it, in which it has four wins and two defeats.

For Vojvodina, the greatest danger is posed by the convincingly best scorer of Partizan, Ricardo Gomes, who scored 34 goals in all competitions this season. In terms of the number of goals, Ricardo is followed by Bibras Natho with 11 and Queencey Menig with 10 goals. Apart from them, the young Nikola Terzić should be singled out, who is in good shape, he was the scorer on Saturday in the victory of Partizan over Voša, so he is expected to take the place of the starter again, along with Menig and Ricardo. Also, it should be pointed out that four former members of Vojvodina are playing for Partizan – Nemanja Miletić, Marko Živković, Igor Vujačić and Siniša Saničanin.

It is also interesting that this will be the 177th duel between great rivals, and the tradition is on the side of Partizan, which has 94 victories and a goal difference in its favor – 197-317. Voša celebrated on 45 occasions, with 37 draws.

Vojvodina and Partizan have a special rivalry in the Serbian Cup. This is their third season in a row in which they meet. Voša’s fans still have a special memory of the victory in the final in 2020 in Niš, when Nenad Lalatović’s team celebrated after a better penalty shootout. In the regular part, it was 2-2, and in the penalty series 4-2 for Vojvodina. Voša and Partizan met the following year, in the 2021/22 season, when the black and whites triumphed in the semifinals at Karađorđe with the result 1-0.

In total, in the Serbian Cup, Voša and Partizan met 16 times. Voša has five victories, Partizan 9, with two draws, the goal difference is on the side of the black and whites 17-30.

Tomorrow’s match in Humska is on the program at 4.30 pm with a live broadcast on the Arena premium 1 channel.
