In the 14th round of the Serbian Super League, Vojvodina will play against Metalac in Gornji Milanovac tomorrow. It will be the first match between these two teams since 2017, when Metalac last participated in the Super League, before returning to the top division this summer.
The team from Gornji Milanovac is currently on the 10th place on the table and is very unpleasent, especially on their pitch, which is confirmed by the words of the assistant coach of Vojvodina, Vidak Bratić.
– This will be our last game before the national team break, and we will play away against the team that has returned to the Super League rankings. We have information that they did not lose at home for a year and a half, which speaks enough about what kind of opponent it is. It is a solid and aggressive team, but we are aware of that. We worked phenomenally this week, and there is an extraordinary atmosphere in the team. The players give the maximum, which is why we are all satisfied in the coaching staff and in the club in general – says Bratić.
After this round, there will be a two-week national team break in the Super League.
– During the break, we will not travel anywhere, but we will stay at home, where we feel most beautiful and best. In FC Vujadin Boškov in Veternik, we have all the conditions and we enjoy it there, so there is no need to go anywhere – Bratić points out.
In the match against Metalac, Vojvodina will not play in its full squad.
– Simić has been absent for a long time, and unfortunately, Topić is also injured. Apart from them, Bojić, who got infected with the coronavirus, will certainly not play against Metalac – Bratić emphasizes.
The match between Metalac and Vojvodina will be refereed by Novak Simović, who also refereed the red and whites in the first round against TSC, after which the club requested his exclusion from its next matches.
– Simović is a good and quality referee. We asked that he doesn’t referee on our matches anymore, but he was delegated again. However, I don’t think there will be any problems, but that this match will be done fairly, as it should be. Whoever is better, let him win – says Bratić.
The assistant coach of Vojvodina greatly appreciates the Manager of Metalac, Žarko Lazetić.
– He’s a young coach. He worked at Partizan as an assistant and he certainly has a motive to prove himself. For now, he leads Metalac quite well and deserves all the praise. I wish him luck in the future, but I also want us to win tomorrow – Bratić points out.
He did not want to reveal who will play in the starting lineup against Metalac instead of Petar Bojić.
– We have several solutions and variants. Today we will have another training, and the boss will make a decision about that just before the game. For now, we have not decided yet – said Bratić.
The match between Metalac and Vojvodina will be played tomorrow at 6 pm at the Metalac Stadium in Gornji Milanovac, with a live broadcast on the first channel of Arena Sport television. Due to the current epidemiological situation, the match will be played without the presence of spectators.
