The draw takes place on Tuesday 1 September at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
Ahead of the draw, the teams in each draw will be divided equally between seeded and unseeded clubs in accordance with the club coefficient rankings.
The UEFA administration may form groups for the draw to avoid clubs without an approved stadium being drawn against each other, in accordance with the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee. Sides from the same association cannot be drawn against each other. Any further restrictions will be confirmed before the draw.
The balls containing the names of the seeded teams will be placed in one bowl and the balls containing the names of the unseeded will be put into another bowl. One ball will be taken from each bowl and placed in a large empty bowl in the middle, where they will be shuffled. The first team drawn will play the tie at home.
This season all qualifying ties will be single-leg matches behind closed doors.
Ties take place on 24 September, with extra time and a penalty shoot-out if required. Winners advance to the UEFA Europa League play-off round.
