The head of staff of Vojvodina FC, Miroslav Tanjga is expecting another difficult match against a traditionally unpleasant rival, TSC.

After TSC celebrated at Karađorđe stadium in the championship, Vojvodina is expecting the team of TSC only 10 days after that match, in the semifinals of the Serbian Cup.

– After everything that has happened in the previous month, the duel with TSC is the match of the season. Potential victory would secure our placement to the finale, but that is certainly how the opposing coach and management of TSC also think. This is more than an important match for us, we entered a better rhythm, but we also entered a rhythm of injuries. Three of our players got injured in Zaječar during the first half of the game, which sounded all possible alarms. We didn’t expect that, and that is definitely a huge issue. We were in a similar position before the last match against TSC in the championship, when several of our players were sick. However, there is no alibi, because we know what the semifinals mean, and what placement to the finale means to our team, and we will give our 100% to win. We hope that we drew lessons from the defeat against TSC, because we were not ourselves at that match. After that game, we got better, and we showed what we can do at the match against OFK Beograd. Only the healthy players will be in the protocol, we are preparing, but I will know the final lineup night before the match – Miroslav Tanjga said.

Siniša Tanjga agreed with him.

– We are facing a hard match, because we recently suffered a defeat by TSC. I hope that we learned some lessons, and that we will be ready for Wednesday, to take our Vojvodina to the finals of the Cup – Siniša Tanjga said.

He then answered the question about his debut in the starting lineup against OFK Beograd.

– The coach said that he was pleased with my performance, my teammates congratulated me as well. I myself am very pleased, even though I didn’t open the match in the right way, but later on I was better. All in all, I can be satisfied and I will continue fighting for my place in the team – Siniša Tanjga highlighted.

The coach of Vojvodina FC once again answered the question about the negative tradition at Karađorđe stadium.

– Before the draw I had said that I would prefer playing in Topola. I told my players after the victory against OFK Beograd that everything seems nicer when you win a game, and that is the ambience in which we should prepare for this match. It is hard for us to understand and realize what happens when we play at our stadium. TSC is coming to Karađorđe once again, and we have to start playing differently at our stadium, we have to start turning things to our advantage. We don’t want TSC to feel better at our stadium than we do. What kind of pressure that is, no one can explain it. Simply, some things need to change, we have to find a different way to get rid of that pressure when we play at our stadium – Tanjga pointed underlined.

He then confirmed that they practiced penalties as well, but that he was hoping for the victory in the regular time.

– Often at practices after we finish playing at two goals, we shoot penatlies, in order to choose the winning team. However, I think there are no favorites here. TSC lost three at the last four games, and they only won against us. And now they are coming to Novi Sad again. On the other hand, we won against everyone else, and lost to them. That is the best invitation for the fans to support us. Yes, we practice shooting penalties, but it is also in the head, that is the decisive factor. We showed that we have character, but sometimes it drops a little. I certainly hope that we won’t have to shoot penalties. TSC must go for the win, just like us. I don’t believe that it will be an open game, as was the case in the previous match. The biggest issue for me is that I don’t know the lineup. It is not the same when you are missing players like Bamidele, Petrović and Medojević, and Crnomarković who got suspended – Tanjga said.

He then revealed why the stopper of Vojvodina received a red card after the game had been finished.

– He was annoyed by the behavior of their bench. To each start, each out, and corner, they pressured the referees. Crnomarković was passing by and he just remarked ,,you had it coming because you are whining all the time”, and that is when things got ugly. However, that should not have happened. You won the match, you are heading to the dressing room and you shouldn’t care about that, because who loses has the right to be angry. I think that as an experienced player he shouldn’t have reacted like that – Tanjga underlined.

In the end, he explained the situation with injuries and the staff, in detail.

– We can hope for Njegoš, but we can hardly count on Bamidele. He has a muscle injury, and only a miracle can make him play. We will see, we won’t reveal everything. Also, Uroš Nikolić left the last match due to an injury, Seid Korać was sick, he couldn’t sleep for two days, I hope that he is feeling better now. Veličković was at the last practice, but when you push him harder, he feels the pain, so we have to give him special treatmen. Vukanović also has some issues, knee inflammation, he trained yesterday, so I think that he will be at our disposal. However, he is not the player who can give us 100% at this point, although his presence means a lot to us – Tanjga concluded.

The match between Vojvodina and TSC is scheduled for Wednesday at 6:30 pm at Karađorđe stadium.
