The first time that some Vojvodina player appeared for the national team occurred on July 28, 1922, when the then red and white Jeno Abraham, better known as Saraz (in Hungarian “dry”), appeared in a friendly game for The Kingdom of Serbs, Croatians and Slovenians against Czechoslovakia in Zagreb and with two goals contributed to the victory of his team in the result of 4-3. It was also the first official football match played by the national team of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croatians and Slovenians.
Since then, Vojvodina has given a total of 82 players for the national team of its country, nine of which were for the Kingdom of Serbs, Croatians and Slovenians, 38 for Yugoslavia, and 35 for Serbia and Montenegro and respectively Serbia.
Most matches for the national team of the SFR Yugoslavia were played by Vujadin Boškov (57), while the most caps for the selection of Serbia was played by Dušan Tadić (80).
