After the defeat of his team from Javor, the Manager of Vojvodina, Nenad Lalatović, stated that the team from Ivanjica deservedly came to victory.
Today, Vojvodina was defeated by Javor with the result 2-1 (1-0), in the seventh round of the Serbian Super League.
– We missed a goal from literally half a meter and had three or four chances in which it was harder to miss than to score a goal, but we did not use them. I think we played a good game. Javor defended phenomenally, and they scored the first goal after a corner kick – says Lalatović.
Ahead of the match, he warned that the host was the most dangerous for the opponent’s goal from free kicks.
– I said that Javor has a great jump, but I will not comment on that first goal and block on Drinčić. Javor deservedly won and their players left their hearts on the pitch. To beat Vojvodina, you have to give your maximum, but Vojvodina must also miss like this. We didn’t have a day today. If we had taken the lead first, the result would have gone in a different direction. This way, when you don’t use the chances we had, then you deserve to lose. Congratulations to Javor on the victory, and we will turn to the next match against Radnik – says Lalatović.
Regardless of the defeat, he is not dissatisfied with the performance of his team.
– You can’t always win, but I’m happy with our performance. We play well, with quality and it can be seen that we play football and create chances. We play attacking and to score a goal more than our opponents, because my determination is not to defend 25 meters from our goal, but to attack the opponent in their half. It can be seen that Vojvodina plays nice and likeable football, but today we were unlucky. I want Javor to stay in the league with all my heart – said Lalatović.
In the next round, Vojvodina will face Radnik at Karađorđe, and that match will be played on Friday.
