In the third round of the Super League of Serbia, Vojvodina welcomes Spartak at Karađorđe on Sunday. It will be the 67th Vojvodina derby between these clubs, in which both teams will enter after a good start this season, given that, after the first two rounds, Spartak has won four points and is in fifth place, while Voša with all six points currently holds the second position in the table.

Bearing that in mind, as well as the fact that the Old Lady had great support from the stands in the previous two matches at Karađorđe, which she justified both with the game and the results, there is no doubt that a large number of spectators will gather at the stadium again, and that another beautiful football evening awaits us.

Of course, all Vojvodina fans would like and hope that the evening will also be marked by a victory for the red and whites, which the Manager of Vojvodina, Milan Rastavac, is aware of.

– I expect us to continue with good performances and show that we are capable of dominating in all segments of the game, that is, to show that we deserve to beat our next opponent. Spartak is a good and experienced team, in the sense that a large number of players have the continuity of playing in that club, which can be seen in their game, just as it can be seen that they have a dose of maturity that this continuity brings. We don’t think that our task will be easy, but we believe in ourselves and that we can achieve victory – says Rastavac.

Vojvodina and Spartak have met 66 times so far, with Voša achieving 39 wins, 10 draws and 17 losses, with a goal difference of 110-71. However, the last time these two rivals met, at the end of last year, at Karađorđe, Spartak won 2-3.

– It does not burden me to the extent that it causes us to have different thoughts or certain changes. We have our path and goals and we are focused on it, and Spartak is just one obstacle on that path. I believe that with our good edition we can neutralize part of that “unpleasant tradition” – Rastavac points out.

In the matches against Napredak and Mladost GAT, Voša was cheered on by around 5,000 fans at Karađorđe, and it is expected that in the match against Napredak that number will be even higher.

– If I and everyone else in the club experienced some satisfaction and incentive for further work, it was the fans in the previous two games. The arrival of the fans and the extremely good and positive energy during the match are something that means the most to us at the moment, and I believe that this support will get better and stronger from match to match. And on this occasion, I invite the fans to come, and we will do our best to enjoy the game – says Rastavac.

Voša will play against Spartak in practically the same lineup as in the match against Mladost GAT.

– Health-wise, the situation among the players is good, because we have no injured players except for Uroš Nikolić, who will be involved in working with the team these days. As for the lineup for the match against Spartak, it will be very similar to the one against Mladost GAT – notes Rastavac.

The Manager of Vojvodina knows very well where his team faces the greatest danger from the Spartak team.

– It is a team that has team quality and in whose game there are some automatisms that they have acquired through the continuity of playing together. They are the most dangerous on the flanks, with Srećković and Todoroski, because they are players who individually can bring a lot to their team. Of course, we will try to disable their good sides and impose ourselves so that they have to deal much more defensively – says Rastavac.

The quality of Vojvodina’s game in this season was greatly improved by the players who joined the ranks of the Old Lady during this transfer window, and the audience especially liked foreign footballers Yves Baraye from Senegal and Mamadou Traore from Mali.

– I am extremely satisfied with the speed with which the foreigners have adapted. When a foreigner comes to our country, there are 1,000 factors that can affect him, both positively and negatively, so no matter how good he is, there is always a dose of risk and we must be aware of that. We were lucky that their characters are such that they managed to adapt very well. This is expressed through their calmness on the field and off the field, but also by showing the quality they undeniably have, the fact is that we chose them based on that. I believe that they have settled in and indicated their qualities, but also that they still have a lot of space to improve – emphasizes Rastavac.

Because of the results, the game, the attendance at the stadium and the overall atmosphere in and around FK Vojvodina, especially after the unsuccessful last season, it is increasingly being said in Novi Sad – “football is here again”.

– I like maximum performance in the first two rounds less than this slogan, because it is something that drives everything. We all know that this will take time, and we will define the result at the end. In order for this to happen positively and favorably, we all have to be involved. I am very happy because Novi Sad has woken up in terms of football and that it has faith in what we are doing, which will certainly be a big incentive for all of us during this season – said Rastavac.
