Today, Vojvodina will play its fourth friendly match in the preparations in Belek. From 3:30 Serbian time, the rival of the Old Lady in the sports center Suses will be Slavia from Sofia, currently the fifth-placed team in the Bulgarian Efbet League.

Slavia Football Club was founded in 1913 by students from Sofia and is the oldest sports club in the Bulgarian capital. Along with Levski, Slavia is the only club that has never dropped out of the first Bulgarian league, and the matches between these two clubs in Bulgaria are known as “the oldest capital derby”. In its history, Slavia has won the title of champion seven times and the Bulgarian Cup eight times, which last happened in the 2017/18 season, when on the bench of this team sat former Vojvodina coach Zlatomir Zagorčić, who left the club at the beginning of the 2020/21 season, but returned to that position at the end of the same season. On the international scene, Slavia made the greatest success in the 1966/67 season, when it reached the semifinals of the former Cup Winners’ Cup.

As the host, Slavia plays in a stadium with a capacity of 25,556 seats and plays at home in completely white equipment, which is why the club is nicknamed “white pride”, while away it plays in completely black equipment. The value of the team of coach Zlatomir Zagorčić is estimated at around five million euros. In its squad, in addition to domestic players, Slavia also has two players from France and one each from Spain and Congo.

As for the team of Vojvodina, this will be a general check before the continuation of the season, considering that it will no longer play friendly matches until the beginning of the second part of the Serbian Super League. Today’s match will be broadcast live on Novosadska Television, and the match can be watched live on the Youtube channel of FK Vojvodina via the link:
