In the 24th round of the Serbian Super League, Vojvodina defeated Napredak 1-0 (0-0) with a goal by Čović from the penalty spot.

The Manager of Vojvodina, Nenad Lalatović, is satisfied with the victory, but he believes that his players are not “hungry” for goals enough, and that they have a problem with their realization.

– Napredak proved to be a very good and quality team. They played in an organized way, they have their own quality and I want Napredak to stay in the league. It was important for us today to win the game and we succeeded in that. What I blame my players for is the realization. We have to be “hungry” for goals. We have to score a goal when necessary, and then it is much easier to bring the game to an end. Today we had a minimum of three hundred percent chances where it is harder to miss than to score, and we missed and after that we could be punished. We certainly deserved to win, especially with what we showed in the second half, when Napredak saved the ball from the goal line several times – said Lalatović.

With today’s victory, Vojvodina kept the third position on the table, and in a few days, the rival of red and whites will be Partizan Belgrade.

– What is most important is that we are still third on the table, which is a great success. Now comes the derby against Partizan. Partizan plays in top form, they currently have a large number of victories in a row. They have a lot of foreigners in the team who make a difference, and they also have national team players. It will be a difficult match, but we are not afraid of anyone. We are going to outplay each other there, so let the better team win – said Lalatović.

In the next round, Vojvodina will play against Partizan, and that match will be played on Tuesday, March 2.
