In the last friendly match during the preparations in Slovenia, Vojvodina is playing today against Mura from Murska Sobota, the fifth-placed team of the Slovenian championship from last season. The match starts at 6 PM and will be played at the Fazanerija stadium in Murska Sobota.

NS Mura (football school Mura) is a club that was founded only in 2012 by taking over the youth school of the club ND Mura 05, which was closed that year. After its establishment, NS Mura started competing in the fourth league, but very quickly reached the first, and in the 2019/20 season, it managed to win its first trophy – Cup of Slovenia.

Already in the next season, Mura won the title of champion of Slovenia by defeating Maribor in the last round, which is truly an incredible success for a club that comes from a town of only 25,000 inhabitants. What makes this club specific is that the local population, together with the surrounding towns, is very devoted to the club from their area, and that in that district there are practically no fans of the biggest Slovenian clubs, such as Maribor or Olimpija.

Mura performs at the Fazanerija stadium with a capacity of 5,500 seats and plays at home in black and white, and away in completely white equipment. The coach of the team is 42-year-old Slovenian Dejan Grabić, who has a team at his disposal whose value is estimated at around 4.91 million euros. Among others, the members of Mura are the former football player of Vojvodina Lazar Zličić, who grew up in the Youth Academy Ilija Pantelić and the former football player of Javor, striker Nikola Petković, at one time one of the best scorers of the Super League of Serbia. Apart from them and local players, the Mura team consists of three more players from Croatia, two from Kosovo and one each from the USA, Italy, Togo, Albania and Jamaica.

Vojvodina and Mura have never met in competitive matches, but they have played three friendly matches so far. Two games ended in a draw, one with the victory of Mura, with a total goal difference of 7-3 in favor of the Slovenian team. Last summer, also in Slovenia, the result was 1-1 (the goal for Vojvodina was scored by Veljko Simić).

As for Vojvodina, it is to be expected that the Manager, Radoslav Batak, will take the starting line-up to the field today, made up mostly of players who did not play in yesterday’s game against AEK.

Immediately after the match and joint dinner, the Vojvodina team will head back to Novi Sad and is expected to arrive at FC Vujadin Boškov tomorrow in the early hours of the morning.

The match will be broadcast directly on the Novosadska TV.
