The coach of Vojvodina FC, Miroslav Tanjga is careful before the match against Red Star in the 35th round of Mozzart Bet Super League of Serbia.
After the victory over TSC and the placement to the Cup finale, Vojvodina is playing against Red Star, who will also be their rival in the Cup finale on May 22nd in Zaječar.
– I think that we shouldn’t look back at the match with TSC any longer, I congratulated my team on their victory after the match. I think that everyone at the stadium were aware of how much my players wanted to win, they were aggressive, and tactically did everything that we had agreed on, so they deserved the placement to the Cup finale, and we expect a lot from the finale, just like Red Star.
As for this particular game, which is a sort of an overture for that match, but we definitely want to end in the place which leads to Europe, and that is very complicated. We are not going to Belgrade with the intention to be defeated, but to play and see what we did well, and what the result will be. We hope for a positive outcome. We have optimism now after a row of good games. Again, we have some troubles with injuries, we won’t be able to count on Njegoš Petrović, Uroš Nikolić, Crnomarković, Lazar Nikolić, Bamidele, and now we are left without Siniša Tanjga, who got injured while celebrating the goal, he clashed with another player and broke his nose. On the other hand, Veličković is readier now, which pleases me, and we will take Popović from Kabel again. We also have some exhausted players, so some of them will rest. Injuries are an old story, but we are resolving that, and not looking for excuses. Our mission is to play the best we can, and show that we are worthy of the club’s crest – Tanjga said.
The midfielder of Vojvodina, Marko Mladenović also believes in the quality of his team.
- We have an important game ahead of us. We all saw our performance in the semifinals of the Serbian Cup, where we showed why we love to play football, and how we fight for Vojvodina. That is what we want to show against Red Star as well, they have the quality, but so do we. We will give our 100% – Mladenović underlined.
Tanjga believes that Red Star and Vojvodina have nothing to hide before the two remaining duels, but he hopes that he will be able to count on a sufficient number of players in order to properly face Red Star.
- For Red Star this match is not that significant, but when they play at Marakana, they have no luxury to play as they want. There won’t be many surprises, we know their qualities, they know ours. For me, the most important thing is to have as many players who can play for 90 minutes, and those who can come in as replacements. The results are good, and a fruit of good performances and regained self-confidence, and I think that we can be optimistic, we just need to be focused. After TSC I also told them that we have to look ahead, and believe that we can win the remaining games. We proved that we can play against Red Star, but last time we played it was just for one half, now we have to play like that for 90 minutes – Miroslav Tanjga concluded.
The match between Red Star and Vojvodina is scheduled for Sunday at 7 pm with a live broadcast at Arena Premium 1.
